Back! | Monday September 9th 2004 |
Woohoo! Smile! is back baby, and only after a four month hiatus! I sincerely apologize for being gone all summer.
My excuse? Well, besides the fact that I'm a lazy bastard, I really didn't have internet for most of the time I was there,
and I had a lot of things that came up during summer. So now we're back baby! I just need to automate the updating process
(I'm still doing things manually here, sheesh!), after which I'll hopefully be able to commit to a weekly schedule!
In other news, I moved the forums over to the Legends Alliance forums. Until the comic gets bigger, their home will be there,
but after that, I'll probably setup separate forums again! Enjoy!

Sorry! | Friday May 14th 2004 |
Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been so excited about the latest Zelda, that I totally forgot that I even ran a comic strip! I'm leaving the country tomorrow to go home for the summer. I will have internet access, so hopefully updates will resume next week!

Hello VGCat'ers!| Friday May 7th 2004 |
Seems that good ol' Scott finally plugged my little comic on his site (I noticed after seeing my hits increase 10x!). Anyway, hope you enjoy the comic. As you can tell, it's still new, so I'd really appreciate it if you can e-mail me and let me know what you think! Any particular thing you'd like to see? Directions I could take? Suggestions for names for the Yahoo! smilie that I'm planning to introduce soon?
Also, the forums are kinda lonely, so if you like this, do signup and join us! And that voting button needs some lovin' too :). |
Made it!! | Thursday May 6th 2004 |
I told myself I'll have n update Thursday and by God I made it, even if it IS by 40 minutes! Sorry, been a tad occupied. I actually need to make a bunch of these during the next week because I'm leaving for home a week on Saturday. Anyway, enjoy!

I'm back! | Friday April 30th 2004 |
So the move went well. I'm all in one piece at least and so is most of my equipment (I did destroy my subwoofer by plugging in the wrong adapter). I'll post some pictures once it's completely done, I still need to go to Ikea today and get me a coffee table and what not. Enjoy the comic and don't forget the forums!
In other news, Quentin Tarantino recently announced a follow up to his enormously successfull Kill Bill. Entitled Kill Bill Vol3: Stuff Khuff, it'll follow a different character with a similar theme of revenge. For more details, click here. |
New Update | Monday April 26th 2004 |
Another update for you fine folk! Don't forgot to vote, and to enjoy the forums! I'm moving on Tuesday so I might have to miss out on this Wednesday's update. I'll do my best to make it, otherwise, expect an update Friday!

New Update | Friday April 23th 2004 |
This might be a tad too smart for you =P. New update Monday! Then I'm screwed!

Kill Bill #2 | Wednesday April 20th 2004 |
As you can tell from today's comic, I didn't quite enjoy Kill Bill #2. I don't know. Something about going in expecting cool fight sequences ala the first, only to find one scene that can be loosely defined as 'fight scene', which sucked. There was no real sword fighting at all, and the dialogue was kinda cheesy. Spoiler ahead, highlight if you saw the movie: also, I don't understand the concept of having two movies about killing Bill, only to spend less than 5 seconds on actually killing him. It baffles the mind.

Always Plan Ahead | Monday, April 19th 2004 |
This, my good friends, is the result of sitting down without any idea about what you're gonna do. You get jokes about doggie poo...and liquified doggie poo at that...
Anywho, I'm planning to do updates this Wednesday and Friday too. Hopefully, if I start getting into a flow, I can start maintaing a Monday/Wednsday/Friday update schedule. In the meantime, enjoy the forums! |
True Story | Sunday, April 18th 2004 |
You gotta love online RPGs. I already had the Lineage II beta installed, and the first time I booted it up, it told me it's updating some files. This is to be expected, especially since it's a beta, but what wasn't expected was the friggin' length of time. By the time it took to download the updates, I made this comic, played some games, ate dinner, studied for my exam, watched an episode of Law and Order, and it still wasn't done. It finished at 3am, just as I was going to bed, so I decided to play it before hitting the sack, only to be greeted with the good old fashioned click and wait kinda formula. I don't have the patience for this kind of stuff, until Middle Earth Online comes out that is.

Update #3| Saturday, April 17th 2004 |
Yup, comic #3 is up and running, thanks to good ol' Scott from VGCats for coming up with the concept. So you can blame him for me having a masturbation joke on the 3rd comic (but trust me, there's a MUCH worse one coming...something to do with liquified brownies is all I'll say), and you can thank him for drawing the cute little tissues that Jimmy (that's the green things name btw) has right next to him. Oh well, enjoy, and post at the forums!
Oh, and I do realize this is the 3rd update in a row where I mentioned Scott. For those that may have wondered, I'm in love with him. We're actually engaged, and getting married in June. Heck, there's actually a little fellar on the road, and we're naming the tyke Dr. Hobo. That should get the authorities after us. |
I lkie cukees | Friday, April 16th 2004 |
The second update of the week choke full of updates! This one's inspired from Scott's lack of spelling ability. Seriously, the guy can't spell. It's hilarious the spelling mistakes he makes when we're chatting on MSN or AIM. Heck, I've caught a few spelling mistakes in his comics! Heh, I think I've been a little too harsh on him. Oh well, he deserves it, since he hasn't plugged my comic yet! The bastid!
And dear lord, I hope I don't have any spelling mistakes in this update. Don't forget to check out the forums, and vote for the comic at Buzz Comix! |
Welcome to Smile!| Wednesday, April 14th 2004 |
Hello one and all to the world of Smile!, yet another pointless web comic. But this time, it's with a twist! The twist being the use of smilies, which isn't that much of a twist at all....ANYWAY, the idea behind this has been around for two years (the comic you see was made at least two years ago, if not longer). Being a lazy bastard, I always delayed actually doing anything with the idea, even though Scott always told me I should do it (I think he was just too lazy to draw me that Zelda comic pack/sprites I asked him to...). I finally found an excuse to get it done: I'm doing it as my final project for my Interactive Media class! Don't I have a cool prof or what?
The comic will initially be updated Mondays, but since it's new, I will do a special super week of updates! Friday, Saturday AND Sunday will see updates, after which it will go to a weekly thing (unless I hit a nice flow). So yes, the coming Monday will also be updated, isn't that cool?! Oh, and while you wait for an update, don't hesitate to drop by the forums and tell me what you think!
Please let me know what you think! I'm open to suggestions and comments, so don't hesitate to e-mail me! Other sections of the site will be coming soon. |
